The room really isn’t that big, a changing table can fit but it will be kind of packed with the glider, crib, daybed, dresser etc. If I dont get one is it practical to have to change the baby on the daybed? Is there some kind of waterproof padding for this? (and not the small one that comes in a diaper bag)

I always wondered, and then I saw on some tabloid progam that the guy from Red Hot Chili Peppers was driving around with his kid strapped to him in a Baby Bjorn carrier. Is that OK? Since you would have the seatbelt on, technically the kid is belted, too. Or is it illegal? What if the airbag went off? Of course this guy was driving an electric car, so probably the max speed is like 10 MPH.

I cannot believe how expensive they all are at BRU.

We will be co-sleeping with a snuggle-nest for the first 3 months, so he will not need to be in the crib right away, but it is something I will have to purchase.

How much did you spend on a crib mattress?

Is it a bad idea to buy the cheapest one they sell?
I already have a crib, I just need a mattress.

Changing poopy diaper using one hand technique and changing pillow (changingpillow.com). By using this technique you will have much more control over your toddler movements. This time I also got lucky because she was watching Elmo on iphone(one of many tricks, more on changingbuddy.com). Notice how her right leg simply resting on my forearm. Most men would hold their breath during diaper changing, I do the same:) Practice makes perfect.

I prefer the furniture to be in lighter color wood (natural or cedar). The armoire must include a hanging rack. I have been searching for weeks but it is so hard to find a set because there are limited armoires. It would be great to hear from somone who actually used the brand of furniture. We will be using it for our firstborn! Thanks so much.
I realize it will probably have to be shipped. That’s fine!

I’ve been browsing various websites for baby furniture (not pregnant yet but hopefully soon). The reviews on some of the produtcs are helpful, but limited.

Where did you buy your furniture (crib, changing table, accessories, etc)? were there things you wish you had done differently, or wish you had known ahead of time? Things you shouldn’t have wasted money on? Absolute nursery essentials?

I hate to spend too much on a furniture they’ll quickly outgrow, but obviously want good quality pieces.

Thanks!

Recent graduate and now professional industrial designer Heidi Newell demonstrated her Offi Bassinet design for us at ICFF. The innovative bent ply baby bed can be used as a rocker with the base in one position and as a fixed bed with the base flipped on its side. The bed and baby can also be easily transported when the top is removed from the base.

We live in Paris and don’t have much room at all. We were planning on having our daughter sleep in the stroller’s bassinet for the first few months. We also have a pack-n-play. Is it okay for her to sleep in the bassinet? How do you do up the bedding?
